Terms and Conditions

LIABILITY

Bel Camino and its agents will exercise all care in making the best arrangements possible for home-stays, transportation (excluding airfare) and other services related to the itinerary of this program.  Bel Camino cannot, however, remove all risks. For this reason, Bel Camino does not assume liability for any injury, damage, loss, accident or delay to any person or property because of any carrier or of weather, strikes, civil or military disturbances, acts of God or of governments, thefts, sickness, or other such causes beyond his control, or for any loss or damage resulting from any improper or insufficient passports, visas or documents which are solely the responsibility of the participant. Additional expenses, if any, resulting from any such incidents shall be borne solely by the program participants. In addition, participants under 21 who choose to leave the group during the course of a group excursion or to travel independently must have the consent of their parent(s) who, along with them, must take full responsibility for this decision and for any costs incurred in doing so. Participants bear the risk and take responsibility for their personal belongings, including all luggage, carry-ons and other possessions.

HEALTH & TRAVEL INSURANCE

Health insurance is required of every Bel Camino participant for the duration of his or her program.  Please check with your health insurance company to be sure your policy includes coverage while traveling overseas. If it does, then all we need is proof of this coverage.  If it doesn’t, you may be able to pay a premium for this additional coverage.  You may also wish to purchase special emergency medical insurance and trip cancellation insurance. Access America is the insurance company recommended by our travel consultant, Karen Chieppa.  This policy has a comprehensive plan that covers medical emergencies, evacuation and trip cancellation and can be purchased at the time of ticket purchase. If interested in this policy, please contact Karen for details at: Karen@globalvisiontravel.com or 800-386-4449.

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

Bel Camino offers an overseas learning adventure and a group experience within the boundaries of safety, common sense and Italian law.  Having chosen to be part of a group program, students will be expected to participate fully in all group activities and to follow the safety and behavior guidelines outlined in the Program Expectations and by the Resident Director during orientation. The consequences of not following the guidelines are described below.

WITHDRAWALS, REFUNDS & DISMISSALS

Bel Camino reserves the right to cancel a program or to make appropriate changes in any program in the best interests of the participants, especially where issues of health and safety are concerned. In the unlikely event that an entire semester is canceled prior to its commencement, all tuition costs will be refunded. If cancellation of the semester becomes necessary after its start date, refunds will be prorated.

Bel Camino reserves the right to dismiss participants who have violated the Conditions for Participation or the Program Expectations, or those whom we believe have become a hindrance to the group process or the overall goals of the program or those who have in some way placed the continued existence of the program (as a long-term guest in Italy) in jeopardy. Unsafe and illegal actions taken by any participant are grounds for dismissal as well as the irresponsible use of alcohol and the possession or use of non-prescription drugs. Those who are dismissed will be sent home at their own expense, without refund of any fees paid.
